the importance of balanced hormones

Hormones rejuvenate, regenerate and restore. They serve as powerful chemical messengers sent to specific cells throughout your body to orchestrate many of your body’s internal functions and how your organs behave. Even a small fluctuation in levels can cause big changes in cells or even disrupt the balance throughout your entire body. Too much or too little of a hormone can have serious consequences.

What Is BioTE?

BioTE is a Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, also known as BHRT, that balances out hormones as you go through different stages in life. BHRT is more preventative and helps decrease the effects of aging and can protect against diseases such as heart disease, osteoporosis, dementia, osteoarthritis and cancer.

What Are Bioidentical Hormones?

Bioidentical hormones are given that name because they contain a chemical composition that is identical tot he hormones that our bodies make. These are made for your body in order to give you the best results as compared to traditional prescription hormones that are synthetic and don't match up to our hormones our bodies make naturally.

Why BioTE?

Natural hormones have qualities that protect our health and well being. As we get older our body produces less and less and causes our body to adjust causing health concerns. Using BHRT helps give your body back those hormones leading to better health. BHRT is safe and effective for both men & women.

How are the hormones taken?

Depending on the hormones some are best taken orally while others are best taken by being absorbed through the skin. During your consultation, our Doctors will make recommendations as to what will best work for you and then create a treatment plan that works with you and your lifestyle.

How often do I come in?

Normally we will have you follow-up after you have been on hormones for four to six weeks. Follow-up appointments after that will depend on if any adjustments need to be made. Once your hormone levels have reached the optimal levels, follow-up appointments will be once or twice a year.

Weight Loss

Hormonal balance can help both men and women with weight loss. Hormone therapy can help reduce visceral fat or stubborn tummy fat that is tucked away behind muscle that does not respond to diet and exercise.

Menopause & Andropause

When hormone production stops in women, many health issues arise such as heart disease, diabetes, breast cancer, osteoporosis, memory loss and changes in mood. Men usually start seeing a decline in testosterone levels after 40, low testosterone levels have been associated with higher incidence of heart disease, prostate cancer, memory loss and changes in mood.
